Some say that the discovery of the Belvidere Torso by artists in the 1500's kicked of the period of major humanistic
exploration we now call the Renaissance. A thorough understanding of the core of the body remains essential to any study
of artistic anatomy. We will explore the underlying skeletal forms of ribcage and pelvis, as well as the overlying
musculature and range of movement.
Each session will include lecture, demonstration, and ample time working from life models and the skeleton. Will be limited to 10 students,
so register soon!
March 6, Portrait Foundations I, Forms of the Head
March 27, Portrait Foundations II, Expressive Hands
