The Time Triptych is now complete and available to collectors
Each panel is an idiosyncratic expression of the three cardinal states of time. The flowers were chosen intuitively, primarily based on emotional response. As it turned out, each flower has strong symbolic content very well suited to the central idea. The flowers depicted are as follows:
- Past: Lisianthus, from the greek lysis, meaning dissolution
- Present: Corn Poppy, associated with agricultural fertility and blood
- Future: Daisy, from Anglo-Saxon, "daes eage", or "day's eye",
which refers to the way the petals open with the dawn
As an experiment, I set myself up with a few problems to solve. First, each of the panels had to have a single dominant
color, white, red, or black. Second, each had to include a circular vessel of some kind. Third, each had to include the
circular motif of a flower. Fourth, each panel had to include an element the color of the dominant in the other two panels.
Each object has a personal significance, but I will let you, dear viewer, come to your own conclusions.

ReSourceful Frames
My Eco-Framing skills were showcased recently in the wonderful magazine Elephant. I was honored to frame several
calligraphies by the venerable Kanjuro Shibata Sensei XX , 20th in the line of bowmakers to the Emperor of Japan. We wanted
to frame the pieces in the most responsible, inexpensive, and eco-friendly way possible, which led to my favorite local
salvage yard. Read the full article at
